In May 2014 LCAfrica was contracted by Saab AB (Support services) to supply and construct accommodation facilities, offices, a secure bunker, and recreational facilities on site at the Mogadishu airport in Somalia.
There were two distinct time frames – The immediate project for three custom-designed offices and four en-suite accommodation containers. This was to be followed a few months later by the accommodation, administration offices, bunker, and recreational buildings.
For the first part, the only option was to design and manufacture in Dubai then airfreight direct to Mogadishu. The second part of the project was manufactured and shipped from China along with the consolidated furniture, air conditioners, catering equipment, solar heaters, TVs, and gym equipment.
